Out & About

Hatched, Matched, Despatched and Patched ExhibitionToday we are sharing with you footage of the wonderful day we had recently at the American Museum in Britain, just outside Bath, where they have an exhibition entitled Hatched, Matched, Despatched and Patched .  A huge thanks to Kate Hebert for taking the time to act as hostess and share all the lovely stories behind the exhibit items. If you want to go along and see this yourself, it is running until 1st November.

Workshops

Kathleen Laurel-Sage shows us how to make great textured book covers with some of her left-over organza pieces and threads, and Valerie gives a simple little tip in this Free  Video, from her First Sampler Quilt series, which takes you through all the steps and stages for making a quilt, and for those with some sewing skills there are additional blocks over and above the 9 shown in the picture; and even though the particular fabrics she used from Makower are no longer available, you could if you really like this look, find fabrics to create a similar look. Of course you could also have a completely different look, which would work just as well! Textured books with Kathleen Laurel-Sage
