Textile Inspiration from Linda Seward

The reverse stars quilt is one of Valerie’s favourite laundry basket quilts, which uses up LOTS of 2 ½” squares as these form the background and the stars are made with the reverse fabric.

It’s easy to do with Valerie’s clever stitch’n flip method – so no triangles to cut – you can create these from simple squares – how great is that!

Throwback Thursday

This week we featured the 3 pocket wallhanging from Valerie;  this is a sweet little decoration that you can make quite quickly using those lovely little pre-printed square – but you could also fussy-cut some of the lovely feature fabric (oh gosh –need a Valium first? – no just take a deep breath!) – make them for all your friends to house nick-nacks and/or cards. – and if you think you don’t have wall space – think about using the back of a door – it’s a perfect size.

Book of the Month

This month, our Book of the Month is Christmas Wreaths & Garlands by Mandy Shaw. Mandy shows you how to make six beautiful wreaths and garlands using inexpensive materials which she decorates with a whole host of seasonal characters and motifs. The instructions show Mandy’s quick and clever way to stitch her felt characters and with this simple technique you can create lots of festive decorations in no time. It also comes with free P&P in the UK in November 2015.

Product of the Month

Following on with the Christmas theme, November’s product of the month is this Candlemat Kit in Red and Green from Creative Quilting.
