Crochet edging for a hexagon blanket with Jane Czaja

Over the last few weeks, Jane has shown you how to make plain, flower and star hexagons. Once you have sewn your various shapes together, you need to tackle the outside edge and in this workshop Jane shows you how to do this. She starts with a 2 chain into which she works trebles;  she shows you how to pivot both at the point of the hexagon shape and also once you get down into the valley. Watch Now+

Herringbone Stitch Embroidery Workshop with Niamh Wimperis

How to use an embroidery hoop correctly – with Niamh Wimperis

In this technique video, Niamh Wimperis explains why the embroidery fabric needs to be taut like a drum when it’s in the hoop. Niamh also explains why she likes to use two layers of fabric in the hoop, as it avoid puckering when doing the stitching and also allows for less ‘peak through’ when moving your embroidery threads from one section of the embroidery to another. Watch Now+
