Out & About

Magna Carta Quilts at Guildford CathedralWe caught up with the Magna Carta quilts when they were on display at Guildford Cathedral;  what a venue and how wonderful those 8 quilts are.  Paula Doyle acts as our hostess and guides us past all 8 quilts, giving an in depth history lesson as well as showing us the quilts themselves.   The reverse of all the quilts is made up of a Thames Mosaic which gives you all the opportunity of sponsorship. The quilts will be moving to Houston, Texas to be on display at Quilt Market and Quilt Festival George R. Brown Convention Center from October 24th to November 1st.

Workshops

Mini Scrap offcuts with Valerie NesbittValerie, our scrap and stash supremo, again delves into her scrap/offcuts to create quilts that appeal to those who like to have the feeling they are creating something from nothing!   Or those who just think the fabric offcuts too good to throw away – she has examples of a prem-baby quilt as well as a larger snuggle quilt which uses the bits from the stitch ‘n flip style of patchwork.
