What a weekend!

It’s fun to get out and share your love for quilting, and we had a fabulous time on our Stitching Getaway last weekend at Tortworth Court Hotel. Why not check out our photo album from the weekend on Facebook and see what our ladies got up to – Sylvia Critcher certainly shared lots of new techniques, ideas and tips and sent everyone off inspired for their new projects. Meet Joanna Smith-Ryland

Box of Stars

Box of Stars with Valerie Nesbitt

This is a great variation on the 54/40 Fight or Flight block that Valerie is so keen on. It’s taken from a commercial pattern by Stephanie Prescott and Valerie explains how to adapt it to use the Tri-Recs ruler for greater accuracy prior to sewing. Valerie has lots of other tips for you as this pattern is very precise and slightly challenging – but she thinks it’s definitely worth the effort Learn More+

Miniature Quilts with Julia Gahagan

Miniature Quilts with Julia Gahagan

Throwback Thursday

For Throwback Thursday this month we revisit Julia Gahagan and her Miniature Quilts  – you’ll look at the scraps in your waste basket with a whole new interpretation after watching this – there could be a whole village in there!  Julia shows us how easy it is to create delightful little pictures and landscapes with tiny pieces of fabric which are captured beneath a layer of chiffon/net.   Held into place with glue to begin with , they are then held firmly by simple sewing – by hand or machine. Watch Now+

We have lots of Julia’s kits and patterns in the Shop (including these 3 new patterns) – just use the Miniature Quick link and scroll down to the Shop items to see what’s available Learn More+

Product of the Month

For our Product of the Month in March, Creative Quilting have put together this unique set of Gail Penberthy’s Easter Gift Boxes pattern and two Fat 1/4’s of themed fabric (one plain and the other with an Easter theme.) The pattern for these Easter boxes allows you to make either size and they are large enough to hide a small gift – (Isabelle at Creative thinks they would be great for wedding favours.) And you still have plenty of time to make them before Easter.

As it’s the product of the month it comes with free p&p in the UK for the month of March 2017 PLUS entry into a draw for 1 months FREE subscription. More Info +
