8 Pointed Star

8 Pointed Star with Valerie Nesbitt

Valerie demonstrates how to create this traditional patchwork 8 pointed star using pre-cut jelly rolls and nickle packs.

To make the finished block.  Valerie has used pre-cuts of 2.5inch strips, which are of course exactly the size that jelly roll strips are cut. Then the centre squares of the block are cut from the 5″ pre-cut squares – Valerie trimmed them back to 4.5inch.  Watch Now+

We also have the Lewis and Irene fabrics that Valerie used, available in the Shop Buy Now+

Stitch n Flip

Stitch ‘n Flip whole quilt with Valerie Nesbitt

This is another great idea from Valerie that is quick and fast. You can make this quilt in no-time at all and you will have it quilted as well!

You can also think about using snuggly fabrics such as cotton flannel – fleece works well too but you will need to control the stretch – and also you could clip the edges of the quilt to give it a raggy edge – so no binding! Watch Now+
