Workshops

Hand stitching is very peaceful and therapeutic and something Angela Daymond just loves. Big Stitch quilting is just what it says – large stitches with thicker thread – and by listening to an expert you get to learn what pitfalls to avoid. In this workshop Angela shares with us her design inspiration as well as how to handle the quilt when quilting – both in a hoop and also without – particularly handy when travelling. Watch Now+

Angela is also well known to us for her Kantha stitching and for dyeing fabric using natural ingredients (often from the kitchen) – and she shares these with us in other workshops throughout the site Watch More+

Did you catch Anne Baxter’s modern style rectangular cushion last week? It’s simple to do and gives an effective decorative edge to it. Anne also guides us on the stitching for the fused appliqué that is used to add the both the hare and the floral decorations. As usual this workshop is full of useful information and tips.Watch Now+

Modern Triangles quilt with Valerie Nesbitt

Continuing our modern theme, Valerie has used up some of her charm pack 5” squares on this quilt and reminds you of her love of the use of Thangles – which allow her to make her half-square triangle units quickly and accurately with no waste – so don’t be afraid of triangles! Watch Now+
