Out & About

4_jh112-02-prism-expo-p2 - Valerie Nesbitt - valerie

We continue our visit to the exhibition by the girls of Prism that was held earlier in the year at the Mall Galleries in London.  Entitled coded:decoded their interpretation was wide and varied.

Workshops

4_jh110-15-pizza-topping - Valerie Nesbitt - valerie

This week, you can have some fun with Valerie using up the bits of fabric she considers too small to sew together, but she feels nevertheless have a worth (other than to use as stuffing!).  See how easy it is to make something really lovely and maybe give yourself an excuse to try free motion quilting! (even the tiniest of snippets can be used – or is life just too short?!?!)

If you would rather use/sew something larger,  then check out the Japanese Jelly Roll quilt idea, also from Valerie;  this is a great stash buster – just 2 ½” strips and away you go (and there is also a layer cake option).

5_peppermint-creams-chris-porter In case you missed it last week, Christine Porter shared an extract from her latest e-book Sensational Circles Quilts.  The e-book, can be download to your computer BUT it also comes in a CD format – both are available from the shop – so don’t be put off by the format – great quilts from this talented quilter.
