This is from our archives as Throwback Thursday a great little project to do with the children.
Kate guides us through the process of making this simple painted T-shirt which can be done with and/or for the children
If using white paint on black you may find you need several layers to get a good coverage – so a little bit of patience maybe! You could also ring the changes by adding day-glow paint, or indeed 3D paint – the embellishment options are down to you!
Kate has kindly given us a number of different patterns, incuding a pumpkin and a bat which are free downloads for subscribed members and can be found in the workshop notes.
If you are having problems sourcing such things as the t-shirt, paint including the glow-in-the-dark versions you could try Heart Educational: www.heart-educational.co.uk
You could of course use these simple templates to create fast, fused applique shapes too.
If you like the idea of the ironing pad, this is a pattern that can be found in the shop and is also an iron caddy (so with the heat resistant fabric you can pack up your iron safely)and we also have a workshop on how to make it: click here:
Making art is Kate’s passion. She works predominantly in textiles producing a wide range of work from wildlife and landscapes through to unusual night sky inspired pieces embedded with fibre optic lighting.
