Magna Carta Celebrations
This week saw the 800th anniversary of the sealing of the Magna Carta at Runnymede in 1215 A.D. The girls from the Magna Carta Quilt Association have finished their quilts and if you would like to see more of how the quilts were made, then click here to use the quick search here on the site.
If you would like to see the quilts up close and personal they will be at Guildford Cathedral from 19 June to 8 August; Southill Park (Bracknell) from 9 August to 3 October, and then they will travel to Houston, Texas for International Quilt Market and Festival.
Other dates and places are being finalised but you can keep up with where the quilts will be by checking their website www.magnacartaquilt.co.uk
Workshops
If you enjoyed meeting Kathleen Laurel Sage earlier in the month you will certainly enjoy her workshop creating delightful cutwork, and having been inspired you can purchase a kit in the Shop so that you can have a go yourself straight away.
And have you caught up with Valerie making Windmills see how simple and easy half-square triangles can be when you use the one-strip cutting idea from Thangles – perfect to use with your jelly rolls and all those other 2 1/2″ strip roll pre-cuts.
Hand quilting tip from Carolyn Forster
Carolyn loves to create her traditional looking quilts in the block-by-block method of quilting on the go and she shares this helpful tip on how to complete the hand quilting over the sashing.

PS: Technical update
A recent Windows software update may have caused a problem to those of you trying to view our videos in Internet Explorer. To fix this, – if you go to a video page, and look at the bottom of the screen, just above the task bar at the bottom, you will see a thin long box which at the left end says ‘Only secure content is displayed’ and at the right end is a button that says ‘Show all content’. Just click on the ‘Show all content’ button and wait while the page refreshes itself and the video will appear.
