Catching up with Anne Baxter
Valerie recently caught up with Anne in her Devon studios. We learn more about the workshops that she is sharing with us, why she turned to hand quilting and also about the Navajo Blanket quilt – an old favourite of them both – which will be shared with you on a monthly basis as a Block of the Month starting Jan 2018 (as there are different techniques covered in the various sections, this could be considered to be a style of sampler quilt.). Castle Wall Block with Carolyn Forster
Did you catch Carolyn’s Workshop at the end of the year for this traditional block created around an octagonal centre. As there are so many inset seams, Carolyn shows you how this is so much easier to sew by hand; she creates the small units of squares and diamonds, and if any of the corner units are pieced then they are sewn too, so that she is then ready to add them to the centre.
