New Year Mystery Quilt

For all those of you who have been asking when we’ll have our next mystery quilt… Well, we’re delighted to let you know that we have a new one coming up for you in the New Year and will run all through January. It’s designed by the very skillful Sylvia Cricther and can be made by hand or machine. You can use your stash or you could treat yourself to some new material for the new year. Stretched Hexagons

Handwork with EPP OR even better for those who love to sew by machine Jennie shows you how this interesting variation on the hexagon can be put together without an inset of ‘Y’ seam – straight seams only – which we love. And for those of you who do love handwork but maybe not EPP, why not think about the American way of straight seam sewing – it’s just a simple running stitch along the ¼” seam line and you can use knots to start and stop! Our new Book of the Month for December is Angela Daymond’s second book – The Fenland Book of Kantha Projects and is a must have for all those of you who loved Angela’s first book on Kantha Stitching, is a mixture of projects for you to complete using this traditional form of hand stitching using running stitches to create images, pattern and texture.
