Top Tip about English Paper Piecing
For those of you who love this form of hand patchwork we have a top tip from Carolyn Forster; she shows you how to multi cut your fabric even with scissors;
And we now have some wonderful new hexagon and diamond papers for sale in the shop, accurately die-cut from Lina Patchwork who are based in Kent – click here for details. Nancy joined us recently for a filming day, so we have some wonderful workshops coming your way on this.
Is your New Year’s resolution to get more of your quilts finished and quilted?
Well have you considered handing it over to one of the Long Arm Quilting girls to finish? We visited the Bramble Patch a while ago and you can enjoy meeting Beryl and Bertha (their machines!) as well as learning just what a great service this is; AND if you want to quilt the quilt yourself, they offer a basting up service too – so no more scrambling about on the floor!!! – sound appealing?
Workshops:
We have a very comprehensive workshop from Jennie (as always) in which she shows us all how to make a textured waistcoat; now patchwork clothing may not be your thing(!) but in this video Jennie shows you how to make Folded and decorated bias strips as well as Trumpets with pokey bits (very technical term!) so if you like twiddling and fiddling take a look.
Paula Doyle shows us how to use one of her favourite tools – the Shape Cut Ruler; this comes with pre-cut slots for the rotary cutter and is particularly good for those who need to sit down to rotary cut.
