We have a really exciting and packed 4 weeks of films ahead for you and being Friday it all starts today!
As promised Lee Brown is showing us how to work Japanese folded patchwork triangles into really interesting cushions and a sew tidy; Lynette Harris – the Stitch Witch – shares with us her passion for Shadow Applique, with a cute little Flower Girl as just one of her patterns; and Sylvia Criticher shows us her new cushion designs ‘Summer Rose’ , that are worked with trapunto, corded Italian quilting and traditional quilting, and the interesting idea of adding colour to this traditionally all-whitework.
We have a long interview with Angela Madden, explaining to Jennie how she moved from being in OT to being into patchwork; her continued passion for Celtic patchwork and her new approach to using furnishing fabrics. And you can learn more about our Queen of Calico by watching the interview with Jennie herself.
Make and Mend, and recycling are very much on our agenda and you will find Jennie is doing her bit with Broiderie Perse (all on the machine) covering up a slight mishap, plus how to achieve the perfect satin stitch, and we have a couple of great ideas to use up wadding scraps with the rag effect bag, quilt and cushion.
Now 50 lucky subscribers won bundles of fabric from us this month and lots of you, we know are working on the Block of the Month; we also sent out those lovely fabric bundles from Oakshott earlier; and we thought it would be great to see some of the projects you have made as a result of the workshop; so…….. how about you share by sending us pics. AND if you have a great idea for ‘make and mend’ or for ‘recycling’ we’d also like to hear from you (remember there were lots of great ideas when we visited Stitchfest last year) ; we’ll be building new pages to post these on to – so get sending to justhandsontv@googlemail.com and attach the pics.
Talking about new pages, check out the Small Ads; these are being used as ‘noticeboards’ so the information on them will be constantly changing, and there is/will be exciting products and information that you won’t want to miss.
I know the clocks go forward in the UK over this weekend (which means lighter evenings and maybe the garden calling) but with the vaguaries of the English weather, hopefully you will still find time to join us.
So happy sewing
Valerie & Jennie
