From little acorns……
We are always so pleased that our videos and workshops inspire others to join the happy band of textile addicts; here is a lovely letter from a beginner who seems to have done just that:
I didn't have a sewing machine or knew how to use one just 6 months ago but have fallen in love with patchwork in the meantime and have bought myself a very basic, very cheap sewing machine.

More Turning 20 Again
Just a quick follow-up to the wonderful weekend at Dunford House.
I had my finished quilt top long arm quilted and then I did the binding myself. I have given it to my son and daughter-in-law who are delighted with it and have attached a photo of the finished quilt for you.
I never thought I would have got as far as I did over one weekend and have to say I was so pleased with the result
Many thanks for all you help and advice especially with rotary cutting that I am now confidently using more and more(this is going to drive my husband mad).

Biscornu cushion
Inspired by the pincushion video from Carolyn Forster here is one that Joy made: I just had to share the biscornu pillow I made following the video that was made for the pincushion. I just enlarged it and again made it match the quilt and other pillow I made. This is the result and I am really please with the way it turned out. I just love your video's, they are so helpful for decorating my house and for making quilts. Sincerely Grateful, Joy C Click here to enjoy the video:
Folded Star Cushion
Valerie originally showed this pattern as a folded potholder workshop but Joy turned it into a delightful cushion that co-ordinates beautifully with her quilt. I finally finished the pillow that I wanted to make to match the quilt I had done last year. I ended up putting the design on like an applique after i got it done because my pillow is square not round or hexagon.
Traffic Pattern quilt
Pat was the lucky winner of the Boys quilt pattern a few months back, donated by Kids & Co.. I have now finished the "traffic" quilt that I won in one of your competitions and have sent you a picture from my iphone - hope it arrives ok. It really came out well and looked stunning. Thank you. It was well received by mother father and child!! I felt very proud of it - thanks to all of your teaching over the years. and she plans to make two more for the other grandchildren! Happy Sewing
