Dresden Plate: Part Two of our Rosebud Fayre Block of the Month
This is a very traditional design, which can be found in a wide variety of shapes and sizes in many quilting books, but for our centre we have used the East Dresden template. This has been designed for use with the rotary cutter and has a wide variety of size possibilities.
For other options you could have a look at the very comprehensive workshop on Dresden Plate by Jennie.

In this video Jennie and I discuss and show the option of having the Grandmother’s Fan design instead as well as other options for the centre.
AND Jennie shows us how to cut a very large square on point if you didn’t want any joins!
We also discuss the method of appliqué used and you might like to check out the very comprehensive workshop from Dawn Cameron-Dick using her Invisible Machine Applique (IMA for shot) method which she has perfected.
