Description

This is the first row of your new quilt adventure in which Jennie shows you how to make the Sun/Moon and the Stars.

And we are off on our quilt adventure – row 1:  sun/moon and stars on the night sky.   Jennie shows you how to create these with the help of useful rotary cutting templates (which keep you safe and as well as accurate).

You get information on how to measure your strips of fabric; she talks about seams and stitch length; marking your fabric – and heed the warning! – always better to use marking implements that have been designed for patchwork.

The 6 section star is made with a diamond 60degree diamond template and is created using a ‘Y’ seam;  you can see more on how to do this with Jennie in the workshop Inset or Y Seam.

The sun/moon is made with the dresden plate template and has a turned top pointed edge which makes for quick sewing as it can be chainpieced, and also for easy applique later.

and finally if you are interested in the circular template, which can also be used carefully with the smaller rotary cutter – click here.
