Festival of Quilting 2015

Back home, exhausted but happy after five full days at Festival helping Isa at Creative Quilting on H17 ; always great to catch up with everyone and everything  and see so many wonderful quilts - and not all of them entered into the competition - there is always so much inspiration on the stands too. Sadly I failed to take a camera that had any power (!) but that didn't stop me shopping both for myself (threads and fabric)  and for Justhands-on.tv !!-     so keep an eye on the shop for LOTS of new products from lots of our contributors, which include Angela Daymond; Janet Clare; Lina Patchwork; Lorna Bateman; the return of Mandy Shaw and a lovely new pattern from Kjersti Smith featuring Dinosaurs.

They all have different coloured drsses on, so do l first cut out the whole angel then cut out the different parts of their colthes and then fuse them on to the background angel so it appears they are dressed ?

Inspired by Justhands-on.tv

I thought you might like to see the Scottie Dog Handbag I made for my niece using the pattern from Mandy Shaw.  I also used the very small Scottie dog to decorate a head band. The final set of photos are of the Christmas banner I made after being inspired by Mandy Shaw's Christmas decorations. Regards Sandra Parker

Tucks & Textures with Jennie Rayment

Val:  Under the new idea of new films each week, ready for the weekend you can see Jennie Rayment demonstrating how to work tucks and texture;  simple, honeycomb, add colour to the edges and much more. Also  a great interview with Mandy Shaw - did you know that she and Jennie had history?!?

What a week

Jennie: I would never have thought that a week could go by and me not prattle on the blog! Tempus certainly fugits when you don't look. Had fab day yesterday as filmed Mandy Shaw doing some amazing Christmas stuff from dolls to other delights and then went to see Kim Thittichai who did hot stuff with Hot Spots - Wow - am I going to have twinkles and sparkly bits and not necessarily on my lizards either - you will have to hang on for that salient titbit (or is it tidbit?) until the film comes out!
