In 2024, we added a new feature that allows you to purchase a single workshop video with lifetime on-demand access.  Single video purchases of videos from the Template and Ruler Demonstration Series with Jennie Rayment (there are 37 in total!) took off in 2024. So much so that these informative and entertaining demonstrations have entered our Top 10 for the first time.

#9 30 Days until Christmas promos

Strictly speaking, these are more short promo than full-length tutorial. Our series of short Christmas promotional videos – – one for each of the 30 days in the lead up to Christmas – – proved incredibly popular this year, including this one of Gail talking about her Christmas wreath. We felt it was worth recognising their popularity. Who doesn’t like a bit of Christmas fun?

#8 Crochet Poppy with Gaynor White

Making a Poppy takes on special meaning in the lead up to Remembrance Day. There are several Poppy tutorials on justhands-on.tv. This year, Gaynor’s crochet Poppy proved the most popular with all of you. In this video, Gaynor White demonstrates how to crochet a Three Petalled Poppy Brooch.

#7  Iron Caddy Tote sewing project with Valerie Nesbitt

Dropping slightly from #3 in 2023 to #7 in 2024, the Iron Caddy Tote sewing project is a regular favourite. This is such a neat idea as it allows you to carry your iron safely – even when warm as it has a heat resistant lining. Plus, it gives you a small surface on which to iron on. Such a clever and practical idea.

#6 Super Quick 13 minute quilt with Valerie Nesbitt

The Super Quick 13 minute quilt tutorial retained its position in 6th place. In this video, Valerie talks you through the how to create this lovely top using four Fat 1/4’s cut into large squares.  Sew together with just three vertical seams, no pins, and then 3 horizontal seams. 13 minutes later you have a quilt top.

#5 How to fit/set up/use a walking foot

There was a spike of interest in videos about the walking foot. The jump in viewing figures was so great that we decided to celebrate the 4 most popular walking foot videos as a group, which brings them in at a collective #5.  Here are the most viewed walking foot videos from 2024:

#4 Making a crochet Leaf with Jane Czaja

Was 2024 the year of the crochet flower? The most intriguing new entrant(s) in our 2024 list are the wonderful crochet flower videos with Jane Czaja. Jane is absolutely brilliant with her easy-to-follow tutorials for making a leaf, pink daisy flower, yellow button flower, and more. The Crochet Leaf tutorial was the most popular of the bunch. If you didn’t make crochet flowers in 2024, then why not pick up your crochet needle and give these popular tutorials a watch in 2025.

#3 Knitted Brick Block with Daphne

This impressive Knitting workshop from Daphne is back in the Top 10 with a bang. All the way up to #3 in 2024. In this video, Daphne demonstrates Block 1 of the 6 part, Knitted Sampler Throw Series. You’ll learn how to use a combination of knit and purl stitches to produce a regular brick pattern as well as a variety of tips and techniques – – from the garter stitch to give a stable edge for sewing up later to altering the size of your needles and yarn to complete a smaller throw and casting off in rib.

#2 Finishing Your English Paper Pieced Quilt with Nancy Adamek

Wonderful to see an old favourite reclaim its rightful place as #2 this year. In this video, Nancy Adamek shows you how to complete your quilt once you have all the hexagons made. She also gives advice about pinning, tacking and the applique stitch.

Will this popular video by Valerie ever move from #1 in the annual ranking? Not in 2024. Your most viewed video in 2024 is AGAIN the famous 40 minute scrap quilt with Valerie.  In this workshop, Valerie walks you through a magical technique that allows you to make a quilt in no time at all.
