Description

Who can resist an Old English Sheepdog Puppy? Here is the pattern for Fiona Goble’s very cute tinsel yarn version.

This gorgeous little fellow is knitted using just two balls of King Cole Tinsel Chunky in shades White 204 and Silver 206. If you knit your puppy in a single colour, you will need just a single ball. If you knit it in two colours, you will be able to make two puppies from the two balls. Yarns available from almost all yarn shops.

The pattern includes tips on knitting with Tinsel yarn and how to ‘yarn joint’ your toy.

The puppy is about 18cm/7in long and 15cm/6in tall.

You will also need a small amount of DK/light worsted weight yarn in black for the nose. You will need a pair of 10mm black plastic toy eyes, 40-50g (less than 2oz) polyester toy filling and some ribbon to tie around the puppy’s neck and a pair of 5mm (US8) and a pair of 3.25mm (US3) knitting needles – and a needle to sew your work together.

The pattern is suitable for adventurous beginners upwards. You need to know the basics (casting on, casting/binding off, knitting and purling). You also need to know how to increase and decrease.

Note: the finished item is not suitable for children under three years of age.

As it’s an instant download you can get started straight away.

Redistribution of the pattern itself in any way is strictly prohibited
