The Sunbury Embroidery Gallery opened in the summer of 2006. In the first six months of opening it attracted over 15,000 visitors.

The gallery is located in the south-west corner of the Walled Garden, in Sunbury, which dates from the 18th century. The garden, which is bounded on three sides by Sunbury Park, was re-landscaped in 1986 to a formal design, and since 2004 it has been home to the Clematis Society’s southern collection of some 300 plants.

The garden is a short walk from the River Thames. The Sunbury Millennium Embroidery is on permanent display in the gallery and is accompanied by a tactile guide for the visually impaired. The gallery is also an educational resource with space for occasional exhibitions. There is a café for visitors which serves teas, coffees and light lunches.

Please phone in advance if you wish to make a group visit, or would like any further information on the gallery.

Textile workshops are also regularly held at the gallery – visit the website or call for more information.
