Make stained glass pictures without using any bias strips following this clever idea from Paula.
Description
Paula shares this really easy technique with us. All you need to do is be able to trace, cut out and iron. Then you get to sew with a simple zig-zag stitch.
This is a super use of scraps of fabric – particularly the bright ones. These will contrast exceptionally well with the black stained glass effect.
When you get to do the sewing, you will need to use the open-toed applique foot on your sewing machine. However the stitch is just a zig-zag and all machines do that.
Paula has used this technique to create table runners, placemats and suggests that it could be used as a box lid too.
There are 2 patterns available in the shop from Paula:
Stained glass poinsettia table runner and placemats
Stained glass roses wall hanging
