A simple way to get your quilt off to a roaring start.
Maths not necessary
You don’t have to know maths to make a bigger impact with your quilt blocks. In this video Valerie shows you how to increase the size of your favourite block with just simple numbers – just remember that you add 1/2″ to the finished size of the square for cutting and 1″ to the finished size of the square when you are dividing it – and then you need your square-up ruler to give you lovely accurate pieces.

She uses this technique again in many of the blocks for the Block of the Month, Rosebud Fayre. You can use the quick search for Block of the Month.
Note: Valerie has a mental glitch when talking about cutting 2 ½” squares saying you need 4 for a block – but this will only give you an 8″ block; she meant 3 ½” for a 12″ block !!!!!
