We start May with a lovely crochet project from Gaynor White who is showing us how to create a very versatile and useful string shopping bag.
Anita Birtles is back in the studio showing us how to create BIAS binding – – which is essential if you are dealing with curves or unusual shapes on your projects – – as well as how easy it is to cut and then sew into place.
Valerie Nesbitt is using her sewing machine this month to share how to make the blanket stitch to finish the applique on your projects.
Jane Czaja brings us more excellent crochet work, this time using an Arcade colour wheel to produce this beautiful blanket.
And finally our Tip Thursday for May features quilter Claire Campion explaining how she uses the backing fabrics of her quilts to inspire her colour choices for the fronts.

About the Tutor
Valerie is the founder and Creative Director of justhands-on.tv , as well as our very own ‘Queen of Scrap’. She founded Creative Quilting, a quilt shop in Hampton Court, where she still teaches to this day.
Gaynor is a crochet-obsessed teacher and pattern designer from Wokingham in Berkshire.
Claire Campion is a modern quilt designer and award winning teacher. You will be inspired by her Walking Foot Quilting techniques.
Anita loves the themes of recycle, reuse and no waste which has led her to scrap piecing projects as the main focus of her work. And she is keen to improvise in making quilts, so rarely follows a pattern.
Crochet is Jane’s passion. She is a technical editor for “Inside Crochet” magazine, and runs regular crochet workshops so others can learn and be inspired.
