Description

Welcome to our May 2019 trailer.

We started with a fabulous patchwork and appliqué quilt workshop from Anne Baxter who has designed the quilt based on the Swedish Dala Horses. You can find video by clicking here.

Janet Clare shared with us a World map panel with her own design, which can be personalised. This workshop is available on our website, just click here.

Fiona Goble shared her knitted doll based on the iconic Mexican artist Freida Kahlo. To enjoy this video just click here.

Jennie Rayment had an expert lesson in Sashiko stitching. In that lesson she produced some extraordinary boxes.

Our “Out and about” film in May included the fantastic textile creations made by serving prisoners who worked with Fine Cell Work. The exhibition was held at the Lady Sew and Sew warehouse in Henley. This film you can find here.

Other inspiring workshops this month included:

  • a table runner and table mats designed by Makower using the Fern Garden range of fabrics, to open this video just click here
  • some Cosmic Happenings from Jennie Rayment, to open this video just click here
  • expert advice on how to insert a zip in your cushion from Jennie Rayment too, to open this video just click here

Valerie Nesbitt brought us some excellent tips on using patchwork as a background. This video is available on our website by clicking here. She showed us how to join your wadding. Also she gave us a very useful workshop on Piano Key Borders which is part of our Throwback Thursday programme. You can find this video on our website too, just click here.
