Description

Valerie shows you a number of quilts and designs which will hopefully inspire and inform you.

Lots of quilts use sashing. Traditional sampler quilts have their blocks separated by sashing. Simple quick quilts can have the squares separated by sashing. The sashing can have cornerstones or not. For instance, can be fancy with your patchwork creating stars at the intersections.

Valerie also shows you how to ensure that the vertical sashing remains in a lovely straight line across the horizontal sashing, no wobbly lines allowed!

The blue and white quilt was made from a pattern called ‘Vintage Rouge’ which Valerie used in combination with her scrap stash.
