Description
Meet Dorothy the talented mother of Kate Crossley (known for her textile 3D pieces). Dorothy loves to work on pieces that allow her to exaggerate the traditional tapestry stitches which she feels make the whole piece richer.
Dorothy explains difference between embroidery tapestry and the traditional woven tapestry that she enjoys working on; she can use up to 40 strands of thread to create the texture and flow of colour.
Much of her recent work has been influenced by her trip to India – hence the toran door decorations that now decorate the doors in her home.
