In this workshop Jennie shows you how to use this template which allows you to rotary cut your patchwork pieces accurately
Classic patchwork design – great scrap design too. Jennie guides you through colour choice and then shows you how the template works. if you rotary cut you will be more accurate. The arcs are cut from strips of fabric. For each wedding ring you need 4 arcs.
Scraps are cut using A and B templates; jelly rolls strips of fabric would also work. Do keep the little squares carefully as they look similar! The B templates also need to have a mirror image cut – so fabrics that are printed are easier to use than those that are dyed!!!(as it’s easier to see which is the right side and which isn’t!)
Pay attention to your seam allowance – it is assumed that you sew an accurate 1/4″; you could sew these by hand; and suggest that you reduce your stitch length on the machine a little as they are tiny pieces particularly if you plan to press the seams open.
Jennie talks you through the pinnng and sewing sequence. One ring needs one centre section and 4 completed arcs. and they make up to 18″ in diameter. When you make a bigger project, they tesselate so you don’t need to repeat all the pieces!
