This simple design introduces raised and textured embroidery stitches to the beginner or alternatively gives the more experienced embroiderer room to experiment.
This design is intended for the embroiderer who would like to try their hand at crewel embroidery with a few raised stitches. It covers a few of the basic techniques and hopefully will encourage you to experiment further on your own.
It’s also great for those of you who have plenty of threads. You can just purchase the design so that you can trace it onto your own fabric. You could frame the design or alternatively embroider onto a tea towel, shirt pocket or onto linen etc You can use stranded cottons or perle thread.
This PDF pattern includes full color photographs, pattern and how to trace. The pattern comes with clear instructions on how to embroider your lavender. There are also suggestions and other ideas for experimenting with. Bullion stitch or even multiple lazy daisies can be substituted if you do not wish to embroider drizzle stitch.
