Description

The membership of 74 women are from all walks of life and all stages of life. Their knowledge and love of sewing and patchwork/quilting binds them together, like a patchwork quilt. They celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2011 and decided to share their most recent works in this exhibition. There were 93 quilts on display.

We get to learn about the history behind a quilt that was ‘rescued’ by Rosemary Lomax. Also discover a clever way of making a watercolour quilt with Doreen Plumridg and enjoy a variety of other quilts on display.

Guildford Quilters members support various charities within the Guildford area. The chosen charities for 2012 were the Surrey Air Ambulance and The Grange – Inspiring Independence in Bookham. So, if you want o find more information about The Grange just click here. Also, as always, they make small quilts for Special Care Baby Unit at the Royal Surrey Hospital.
