Description
This very simple design introduces stumpwork to the beginner. It combines the use of various embroidery thread types with a number of basic stumpwork techniques.
This design was featured in the UK’s Stitch magazine, in December 2009! It’s great for those who have plenty of threads and fabric and would also just like to trace the pattern onto their own fabric.
The design introduces a beginner to simple stumpwork techniques. It also incorporates a bit of stumpwork, with raised, textured stitches and threads. It is suitable for a beginner to stumpwork, who has some knowledge of crewel embroidery stitches. With the pincushion, Lorna has used drizzle stitch for one sheep, a slip of French knots appliqued onto the background for the second and a couched woollen thread for the third. Alternatively you can use drizzle stitch for all three sheep. Little wired horns complete the design.
The pattern, includes a full set of instructions, the pattern, stitch glossaries and colour photographs
Finished size of design: 3inches (7cm)in diameter
This is an instant download pattern so you can get started straight away. You will download 2 pdf files – one with the pattern another with a stitch glossary.
