Description

Lee takes us through this interesting workshop on how to use Markel pens. These are oil-based and create interesting pictures which can then be stitched into.  Simple stencil shapes are made out of cartridge paper.

Markel Pens are available from Art Van Go www.artvango.co.uk.

About Lee Brown

Lee was formally trained in commercial design at Hornsey School of Art (now part of Middlesex University). She then studied textiles at the London College of Fashion. A trip to New Orleans and a visit to a quilt show in 1974 sparked off her enduring passion for fabric construction and embellishment.

As well as working on commissions from her studio at home, Lee has for the past 15 years been teaching City & Guilds Certificate and Diploma in Embroidery, Patchwork and Quilting, and the elements of design in adult education centers in Kent.

Lee also lectures and gives workshops and judges at many UK events. You can find her at www.leebrowndesigns.co.uk. Lee introduces us to the Marker pens usage. These can be used for painting onto fabric but with toothbrushes!
