You will have the chance to spend one day with each tutor, working on Triangle and Octagon designs.

Tricky Triangles with Valerie Nesbitt

Triangles are one of the bedrocks of patchwork but all those points can be scary; so allow Valerie to take away that fear; she will show you how to create them quickly, easily and, more importantly,  accurately.  A great excuse to delve into your stash and create great scrap quilts.

Stripey Octagons with Jennie Rayment

Play with shape and form to create an unusual strip effect. Make one block or four or maybe even more then add border or two. The design appears deviously difficult but with a little partial seaming – it is oh sew easy! Just sew sets of strips, slice into sections and … it’s a fabulous bit of fabric fiddling!

Warbrook House Hotel (The Grange), Eversley

The Warbrook House Hotel will be our home for the weekend. A magnificent Grade I listed mansion set in 130 acres of Grade II listed gardens. We reserved The Grange, a lovely 20th century addition to the main mansion house which was extended from the original farmhouse. It is an ideal location for sewing retreats as the teaching, modern accommodation, and restaurant are all under one roof, providing a special sewing space for the weekend.  We have our own dedicated parking spaces near the entrance to the Grange, making it easy to transport sewing machines and supplies.  Indeed, The Grange offers everythign you need for the perfect stitching weekend retreat.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Berkshire-Hampshire border, and close to Heathrow Airport and Central London, which is accessible by train with connections from Reading, Fleet and Farnborough rail stations.

What’s special about a retreat

We keep numbers limited on retreats so that everyone has access to the tutors as well as the space to work on their project. Attendees tell us it is “ a little me time.”
