Our first weekend since lockdown finally took place this weekend at the Hogs Back Hotel and Spa, Farnham

17 very happy ladies spent the weekend making their own interpretations of a stunning bargello quilt.

The class started in earnest on the Saturday morning with the ladies arriving in the rain heavily laden with sewing machines, required homework, cutting boards and anything else they thought they might need for the weekend.

As with all our weekends the beverages were flowing from the start of the class and on-going throughout the day.

It was strange at first have everyone on their own table and 2 metre space. But, it did work and everyone was happy to be getting some normality back into their lives. They were able to sew in a friendly relaxed atmosphere, albeit distanced, and even managed friendly banter. Some even managing to take some time out to use the spa and swimming pool

We all managed to eat together with our meals pre-ordered with staggered timings – it worked.

All in all a very good weekend enjoyed by everyone – good food, good company and plenty of sewing

So with this in mind, and in the knowledge it is possible to attend and enjoy a justhands-on.tv weekend during lockdown please do have a look at what’s coming up, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Why not come and join us and escape for the weekend at one of our upcoming retreats – you’ll find full details here.

UPDATE 25/10/20:

One of our attendees, Dotty,  told us she had a lovely weekend and had spent the last couple of weeks, since the retreat finishing off her bargello work. It is now a very lovely full sized single quilt.
