Ann Hill achieved her objective of covering the Hampden Park Football Stadium with quilts – all 5,000 of them – but now they need a home!!

Here is what she says:

I am now putting my mind to selling some of the Alzheimer Quilts.   I would like to run numerous coffee mornings around Scotland on Saturday 21 September which is World Alzheimers Day.

How about you running one, or your quilt group.   The money raised at the coffee morning could be sent to Alzheimer Scotland or could be kept for your own group funds.   I would send you 50 quilts from the project with certificates stating that they were part of a historical event.  Lap quilts are £20, Single bed £40 and double or bigger £80.   They would be ideal christmas presents!

Hampden Park are hosting a coffee morning on Saturday 12th October from 10 to 12.30. The entrance is £3 per head and entry to the football museum will be half price if anyone wants to visit this wonderful piece of football history. Hundreds of quilts will be on display for sale. You can get tickets from me either for yourself or to sell to your club or friends or you can simply pay at the door on the day.
We are now selling the quilts and that’s going very well although it was slow to get started. Alzheimer Scotland tell me that almost £18,000 has been raised so far. The quilts are selling at an agreed price of £20 for a lap quilt, £40 for a single bed size and £80 for a double. Each quilt comes with a certificate to prove that it was part of Hampden’s history and a world record breaker.

Here on the site we organised a quick quilt video so you can check that out too:
