Announcing the launch of two new episodes from The Makers Studio
Janome UK and justhands-on.tv are launching two new, FREE TO VIEW episodes in the popular The Makers Studio series.
Each Makers Studio episode features a leading textile artists who demonstrates how to make one of their specialist projects. There is a discussion between the artist and host covering a range of topics from their creative motivations to personal stories, and then a round table talk about the finished project with two industry experts: Jayne Brogan (Janome technical expert and Regional Manager) and Linda Seward (quilting expert and author).
Lucy Engels inspires us with a colourful modern quilt design using a foundation paper piecing technique that she calls “controlled improv”
The first, new episode – – available from today – – features Lucy Engels, a modern quilter and visual artist, who creates unique, modern quilt patterns that coax out your inner artist by allowing you to put your own personality and stamp on what you’re making.
You’ll learn how to map out your own template on freezer paper, press fabric into place with an iron and then sew the pieces together. You’ll also see how Lucy quilts with different colour and weight of threads to accentuate the pattern.
