Two great tutors to choose from for two days of Embroidery inspiration
Learn the beautiful and powerful art of embroidery as seen on BBC2’s The Victorian House of Arts and Crafts. Recreate a miniature version of Niamh’s winning bedspread from episode 2, as she teaches you key stitches. Embroider a small ring of flowers and leaves, each one with a special meaning from the Victorian language of flowers. Discover the power and significance of embroidery as an art of resistance and rebellion – from the suffragettes to modern day. Take home a piece of art to hang on your wall, a new skill, and new friends.
Are there a lot of stitches on your machine you haven’t used? Lots of threads in your box you’d like to know how to use? This is the workshop for you! You’ll make a lovely small wall-hanging or cushion from a choice of 7 projects, while exploring new threads and stitches. Anja will also show you how to achieve perfect binding every time! Find out what works for you and your machine; pick up lots of knowledge and tips so you can quilt with confidence on your future projects!
