More tumbler approval

  Thanks for the inspiration.
This was almost as quick to piece as simple 5 inch squares but more visually interesting outcome.

Kind regards,
Irene - want to see What it's all about? - click here

Corded and Stuffed

Carol, all the way on the otherside of the world in Perth, Australia, contacted us before Christmas as she was looking to get some trapunto wool and learn the craft. For her first attempt. she has made this lovely version of Sylvia Critcher's Christmas Rose Pin Cushion and she has used hers as a Christmas decoration rather that a pin cushion.

Floral Cutwork

The justhands-on.tv community stretches far and wide and one member from France, Sandra, made these gorgeous cutwork pieces by following instructions from Kathleen Laurel Sage in one of her kits . She's very pleased with her results. One picture is of the kit she received, and the second one is made from  a photo that she found on Kathleen's site.

Changing Places Quilt for Project Linus

We do love it when we inspire you, especially when it's all for a good cause. One of our lovely members, Liz, wrote to us recently as she had enjoyed Jennie's video Changing Places and thought it would be ideal as a scrap quilt for Project Linus. For those of you not familiar with Project Linus, it's  a volunteer organisation. who provide new home made patchwork quilts and knitted/crocheted blankets to sick and traumatised children of all ages, and give volunteers across the UK the opportunity to contribute to their local community.

Stars and Moon

We do love it when a plan comes together - We've heard from one of our members, Beth. She's just completed this quilt for her grandson using Janet Clare's Nocturne fabrics which we had on the site a few months ago. She's called it 'Stars and Moons'. Her grandson is a Man City fan and was really delighted with this and the Blue  Moon, unbeknown to her, is their club song.

One for him and one for her – crazy quilts

Well a pink one and a blue one at any rate. These two lovely quilts were made with fabrics from The Cotton Craft Company - six fat 1/4's plus a mini-bolt of 1.5metres of extra wide which has been used in the border, there is enough for the backing and binding - so extremely economical!     Also some lovely new wadding to try- can't wait!

Magic 4 Patch quilts by Valerie Nesbitt

Here are a couple of quilts that I just couldn't resist making!   The first used lovely Lewis & Irene fabrics that were also used to make a cushion (see Anne Baxter's workshop) and the other was made with fabric scraps given by a quilting friend as leftovers from her own quilt.
