Christmas projects from Gail Penberthy
Although, Christmas was not far away we hoped that you had enough time to made a couple seasonal projects from Gail Penberthy:
- the first was a lovely Festive Tree Skirt, which could also be made into a fantastic table centre. You can find this video by clicking here
- Gail’s second workshop was all about her new love Glitter Felt. We feel you could never have too much bling during Christmas season, so you could consider adding it to everything. More about Glitter Felt you can find on our website, just click here
West Country Quilt Show
Sit back with a cuppa and enjoy more of our visit to the West Country Quilt Show. That time we met Stephanie Crawford, of Contemporary Quilt West and she took us on a tour of the beautiful and highly original quilts her group had exhibited at the show. To find this video just click here.
Workshops with Valerie
Workshops with Valerie that month had her sharing a Little Sweetheart quilt designed by Laundry Basket quilts, which has a free pattern download from Makower. This video is available by clicking here. Also she showed us how to succeed with Flat Piping, which is a way of adding just a dash of colour at the edge of your quilt really quickly and easily. This video you can find on our website too, just click here. And she also brought us a show-and-tell style workshop on using the humble, but inspiring nine-patch block. “Your First Sampler Quilt” series
There were also two more blocks coming up of “Your First Sampler Quilt” series. Block 6 was the lovely Ohio Star and block 7 was known as Card trick, which had a clever colour placement to produce a 3D illusion. Block 6 is you can find by clicking here and block 7 by clicking here.
Invisible Machine Applique
Our throwback Thursday that month featured the talented Dawn Cameron-Dick with a workshop on her Invisible Machine Applique. It is an extremely useful technique to master with your sewing machine. To find more information just click here.
