This is a delightful quilt with a free download pattern from Makower, with fabrics designed by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts.
Valerie talks you through the making of one of the blocks for this delightful quilt, which although it looks as though it is set on point, it is not – the block is made square.
The block is straightfoward to make with a simple combination of squares, rectangles and triangles; the cutting for the triangles is correct and Edyta has taken account of the straight grain needed to keep your block square.
Be aware that this block does require you to sew a very accurate 1/4″ seam – don’t rely on the foot – if you want to double check, we have a very helpful tutorial which subscribed members can access by clicking here.
and if you don’t want to use cornerstones in your sashing, make sure that you line the seams up accurately too. For more ideas click here
This block/quilt is layer-cake friendly.
