Jennie Rayment shows how to make the quilt fit the border.
Description
Making the quilt fit the border
As with other borders on this Medallion quilt Jennie makes the quilt fit the border, rather than the other way round, which is a very useful tip when designing your own work.
Flying geese
Jennie makes the flying geese units using some special rulers but for alternative methods you could check out the options by using the quick search ‘flying geese’ on our website. The finished geese units are 6″ x 3″ – information you will need if you use another construction method.
Rulers
The two rulers mentioned by Jennie can be found on our website:
- Easy Angle by the E-Z company. This is for 1/2 square triangle units.
- Companion Angle by E-Z company. Designed to help cut Quarter-square triangles accurately.
The twiddled and fiddled trumpet border will be up next and works as an alternative.
