Description

Paula has been closely involved in the designing and making of the Magna Carta quilts and in this workshop she shares with us how she (and her quilting friends) drew with thread the portraits to hand on the Oaktree Legacy quilts.

There were/are 20 leaves on each tree and the portraits are of those people who are considered to have been active on human rights (as this is the clause of the Magna Carta that has been depicted on the other quilts).

Paula explains how she uses copyright free images; the use of the products Transfer-Eze and Terial Magic; and then gets to work on the design using a variety of colours of threads to depict the various shades of the portrait – which very quickly comes to life!

Their Facebook page is under Magna Carta Quilt Association and their  Twitter thingy is @MagnaCartaQuilt.
