Sylvia has taken a simple block and given it a clever twist to create this lovely table runner and/or scrap quilt. This is part of our Throwback Thursday programme where we revisit workshops from our archive.

Description
Sylvia guides us through how to make this simple block and she has designed this interesting table runner – approx 48″x32″ – or you could raid your fabric stash to make an interesting scrap quilt.
Scrap Star Patchwork Block
The block itself is quite unusual as it takes four to make the star shine.
Easy for Beginners
Follow her simple steps which give you accurate sewing (and she uses up all the bits too so there is no waste!)
2012 is going to be quite a patriotic year with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations as well as the Olympics so you could give a thought to making the quilt in the patriotic colours of Red, White and Blue (which obviously applies to those of you in Russia as well as the USA).
