Valerie Nesbitt demonstrates how to create this strip-pieced block with jelly roll strips and some magical cutting and great for beginners.
This is a pretty straightforward strip-pieced block to sew that gives amazing results. The pattern works with any fabric colour choice but Valerie selected blues and creams to give a more balanced look.
For a busy, scrap look all you need to do is select your fabric strips at random.
Your blocks can be set traditionally and separated by sashing; or just sewn together to create one large quilt top, or as Valerie did, you can set the blocks on point, which she separated with sashing, cornerstones and setting triangles – so perhaps a setting that requires a little bit more expertize .
There are free workshop notes for this workshop which are available when you have a paid membership.
