Description

This is another simple, modern cut and slash design from Helen, utilising squares as a starting off point. These can be any size you like. Pre-cut layer cakes would work of course, although Helen has chosen to work with Longshotts from Oakshott Fabrics.

You get to make three blocks at the same time, so there is a chance to vary the fabrics in each block . Take care to keep yourself safe while turning and cutting, and then you get to do a quick shuffle!

This is a block that requires you to trim as you go, so don’t worry about the seam allowance.  When all the blocks are made you should trim them up to a standard size.  This way they will fit together perfectly – so another great idea for a group quilt.

If you have enjoyed Helen’s pattern then you can find more by visiting her own website Little Patch Pockets.
