Description

September brings the next two parts of our beginners sampler quilt series designed by  Sallieann Harrison. The first block this month introduces you to Appliqué.  Then in the Road to Oklahoma block, Sallieann covers the four patch, which combines with the half-square triangles you have already learnt to make, all made with the wonderful forest fruits colour range of fabrics from Oakshott

Anne Baxter is with us again this month. She continues her theme of cushion making.  This time she adds this very attractive Oxford flap.

Our knitting expert, Daphne Morris, shows us how to create a simple but fetching beret. She uses various styles of needle. The kit is available to purchase in two colourways.

Jane Czaja, who’s love of crochet is infectious, shows us the Moss Stitch which is one of 36 crochet stitches from her very practical stitch sampler booklet.

Valerie Nesbitt is looking at Modern Pieced Patchwork Hearts this month – a very useful alternative to appliqué . And Kate Crossley gives us a demonstration of how to make very distinctive fabric designs using a very safe form of acid etching.

Our technique Thursday this month is a tutorial from Nancy Adamek of  Lina Patchwork, on how to remove the papers from your English Paper piecing diamonds. This means you can reuse them either in the same project or start another one.

Finally, Jennie Rayment returns with her extraordinary Fancy Fandango patchwork block, delivered in her best school-girl Patchwork French. .
