Description
This month we enjoy wandering around the delightful Suffolk quilt shop called Oliven with its owner Vendulka Battais. She tells us more about the amazing textile work that she has on display in her classroom.
Jennie Rayment is back in the studio with her fun yoyo caterpillar. This can easily be made from fabric and wadding scraps by all age groups. Later in the month, she returns with her innovative appliqué technique which she has entitled Changing Places.
Paula Doyle continues to help us recycle with her fabulous ravioli quilts, reusing both denim and t-shirt fabrics. Carolyn Forster is also on a mission. She helps us use up every last scrap of fabric in her Strips and Strings workshop to create these lovely quilts.
Valerie Nesbitt continues her love of chain quilts in her Double Irish Chain quilt workshop (which is step up in skill level from her Single Irish Chain).
If you love bags, then the Reversible Bag workshop from Sue Trangmar will hit the spot. Sue shows us how to not only make the bag, but add a pocket and handles and you can make it fully reversible.
Jane Czaja completes her crochet series on flowers and leaves with this yellow button and green leaf, which you could easily use to embellish your garments or make into table decorations during the summer months.
Our technique Thursday this month features Wendy Gardener showing us how to fit a walking foot and its guide which is so very vital when wanting to do straight line quilting, particularly if you have been inspired by Claire Campion in our series in The Makers Studio.
