See What’s Coming up in August 2021

Description

August sees the start of our brand new Beginners Sampler quilt series with Sallieann Harrison. This includes a very comprehensive guide to using rotary cutting equipment. Then, later in the month, Sallieann takes us through the steps to make the Windmill Block. She will create half-square triangle units which will prove essential later in the series.

Valerie Nesbitt will be creating some stunning cushions by upcycling old shirts. She also demonstrates how effective Corners in the Cabin patchwork technique can be.

Gail Penberthy gives us some very handy tips on applique using her own stunning designs as examples and Anne Baxter demonstrates the use of Vilene in her Naïve Applique workshop.

Jennie Rayment is making herself a cup of tea in our studios so needed to create a wonderful teapot cosy to keep it warm,. Whilst Helen Deighan returns with part 2 of her workshop on Dyeing fabrics in a plastic bag.

Finally, our technique Thursday video features Tess Grace from The Indian Block Print Co. with some simple tips for cleaning your printing blocks to make them last for years.
