Description
August videos
That month we were joined by Janet Clare who took us Up Hill and Down Dale’ with her lovely layer-cake pattern. It looks a little like the traditional favourite Delectable Mountains. You can find this video by clicking here. Also Valerie took us for a lovely summer ‘Walk in the Park’. Her workshop uses Makower fabric and a Lynne Goldsworthy design and has a free pattern to download. This video is available on our website, just click here.
Helen Butcher showed us her lovely “floating box within a box” designs. These are part of her contemporary collection. You can enjoy them here. Plus Jennie Rayment took us through the lattice window with some simple but beautiful designs. You can find this workshop on our website too, just click here.
Also in August, Valerie showed us how to hand-piece a traditional tumbling block quilt. You can find this video by clicking here. Whilst Carolyn Forster guided us through a workshop to create an amazing Biscornu pin-cushion. Once you’ve made one, you will want to make these for yourself and all your friends. This video is available by clicking here.
Mary Gamester featured in two of our August videos:
- you can enjoy an interview we recorded with her at the West Country Quilt show, to open click here
- a workshop on how to do transfer painting to create your own beautiful fabric designs, to open click here
Throwback Thursday
Jennie Rayment brought us a tip on how to anchor your work by machine (she’s not a fan of handwork). You can enjoy this video by clicking here. Our Throwback Thursday that month featured Valerie demonstrating binding also using the sewing machine and creating the mitred corner. This video is available on our website, just click here.
New English Paper Piecing series
We also introduced a brand-new English Paper Piecing series, designed by Nancy Adamek exclusively for us. Valerie chatted to Nancy Adamek to learn more about the upcoming tablerunner pattern called Tudor Rose. You can find this video here.
