Description

These quilts, are 40ft long x 7ft high in total, double sided have been made to celebrate the 800 years since the signing of Magna Carta. There are 4 Medieval and 4 Contemporary Quilts, and in this video you will see how beautiful these quilts are and learn more about them.

You will also learn about the encaustic tiles, each of which represents a letter of the alphabet and surround the quilt, and which have a message from the 39th Clause of Magna Carta that deals with human rights.

The Legacy Quilts continue the story of human rights with 25 shields on display of the barons, who were involved and on the oak trees hang thread painted pictures of people who were and still are involved in human rights.

The quilt were made by  Paula Doyle, Alison Garner and the other ladies of the Magna Carta Quilt Association.

Their Facebook page is under Magna Carta Quilt Association and their Twitter thingy is @MagnaCartaQuilt.
